The Non Profit Congress was a successJanuary 3, 2012
January 3, 2012: Judge Jamie Canto sworn in our 2011-2012 board members. The officers also paid tribute to former Board members/Officers Maresa Aguon (Chair, 2010-11), Kate Baltazar (Vice Chair, 2010-11), Kimberlee Kihleng (Secretary, 2011), Al Silverio (Board Member/Secretariat, 2010-11) and Ange Barcinas (Admin/Fiscal Support, 2011).
Beginning 2012, we will have monthly get-togethers on the first Tuesday of the Month with guest speakers, themes to recognize the work of non profits and activities to accomplishment the resolutions adopted at the 2nd regional non profit congress in October this year.
Payu-Ta will be meeting with local and federal officials to discuss new partnerships in a model structure that will improve the attainment of government mandates through increased participation by the private, non profit sector.
We hope to open our temporary offices kindly donated by FlameTree and Pacific Tyre in Mangilao in January. We are starting with very little so any contributions you can make towards this effort would be greatly appreciated!
The Non Profit Congress was a success. The Photo CD is completed (Expressions Studio) and is available at $35 (just email us if you would like a copy). The CD is beautiful and captures the expressions of the participants, presenters and exhibitors. The 22 minute video by Herman Crisostomo will be completed soon and we will let you know where/when it will be aired. The policy statement of the conference done by senior UOG social work students, is also being finalized for distribution in late January. The 2012 congress is planned for the end of October, so mark your calender now!
